AI Website Builders
April 14, 2025
A few quick notes from the intersection of AI, marketing, branding, and small business.
Easier website creation. The Verge and others are reporting that WordPress is now offering an AI tool that will build your website from a few simple prompts, layout, text, and images included. Currently this feature only works for new sites and isn’t yet compatible with e-com. Also, it sounds like the number of prompts is limited before the costs go up. I recently tested native AI site builders in SquareSpace and Wix. From my experience, building a SquareSpace site from scratch without AI was actually easier. The AI builders kept going in the wrong direction, and it was hard to redirect. The AI builders, including WordPress, could come in handy when creating microsites, MVPs, or proof of concept examples, however.
Marketing platforms for small business. Digital Assault AI debuted its SaaS platform offering enterprise-grade marketing tools for small businesses. The platform combines CRM, automation dashboards, and white-label capabilities under a subscription model starting at $300/month. The company claims that $300 replaces the typical $3,500/month software stack that’s currently needed. I haven’t experimented with this service yet, but I predict this will soon be an insanely competitive type of service, with costs coming down and features + ease of use going up.
More on market analysis for the rest of us. While also featured in yesterday’s post, this use of AI is available right now and easy to implement. Tools like Perplexity Pro, ChatGPT Pro, and Google Gemini are increasingly being adopted by small businesses for competitor analysis, customer insights, focus groups, and trend exploration. This article notes how these platforms can help you make data-driven decisions without requiring technical expertise.
